Chennai Box Office Reports Update as on 23rd Jan
ReplyDeleteKavalan – No. of shows : 221
Theatre occupancy : 95%
Collections : Rs. 1.51 Crores
Aadukalam – No. of shows : 271
Theatre occupancy : 90%
Collections : Rs. 1.7 Crores
Siruthai – No. of shows : 293
Theatre occupancy : 91%
Collections : Rs. 1.98 Crores
Kavalan may be 3rd but see the number of shows….Its got 50 shows lesser than aadukalam and 72shows lesser than siruthai…..Theatre Occupancy is Highest for Kaavalan which means almost all theatres are completely full….!! And moreover this is the time when the Family audience start going to watch…So Our Kaavalan will continue to pull the crowds..!!
One more imp thing is this is only in Chennai… Kaavalan is Doing really well outside TamilNadu also whereas the other two are struggling…In Bangalore Kaavalan is screened in almost 15 theatres whereas the other 2 are in 3 theatres each…In Mumbai and Also in the US kaavalan has much more theatres and shows than others…So Fans don be sad after seeing the Chennai collections….!! Family audience is much more than the Mass audience….Kaavalan satisfies both whereas the other 2 are oly for mass….So by the 3rd or 4th week definitely Kaavalan will Overtake the others in chennai box office also….!!
1 more very important statistic is the Kaavalan released 1 and a half days after the other two and still collected 51 lakhs whereas the other two had already reached 69 lakhs …
ReplyDeleteSo there itself those 2 movies got a lead of 18 lakhs over kavalan and then they had more number of shows.. So if we remove the 1st weekend collections then :
Kaavalan : 7 days 1crore
Aadukalam : 7days 1.1 crore
siruthai : 7days 1.3 crore
Despite having so many more shows than Kaavalan the other two movies are ahead over the full week by very small margins of 10 lakhs and 30 lakhs … So Fans definitely no need to worry…. By the 4th week Kaavalan will overtake these two movies and Prove Vijay is the Box Office Winner in the Pongal Race in Chennai also….!! He’s already the winner Outside Chennai :) :)
